Talkin 2 myself

Picture taken from here

I am on a mission tonight....

For some unknown reason, I seemed to keep waking up in the middle of the night for the past few nights, and stayed awake for more than an hour. Initially, due to the pouring rain the past few nights, I thought I was worried of the dripping sound on the roof, just above our bed. However, it was not pouring last night, and the same thing happened again, and worse, last night I was rolling from the left to the right, right to the left for about more than 2 hours..!!

So, I have decided to stay up, no matter how tired and sleepy I am tonight, to exhaust myself even further, and hopefully, later when I finally decide to hit the sack, I will be able to drift off right up till morning.

Hence, the reason why I am blogging, he..he..

Battle between the devil and the angel

Each time I settle down for some serious study or to work on my assignments, I get these two jokers appearing out of nowhere, talking to me and to each other, interrupting my flow of thoughts. One is usually on the right while the other is on the left of me. Can you guess?

Like tonight for example. Yeah, I will have one fella telling me that I am hungry, or that I am tired, I need to eat for energy and booster. Now I know that night snacking is unhealthy. Yet frustratingly, I will automatically feel tired or hungry. Then my angel came to the rescue, so I headed downstairs and allowed myself to indulge in ........

an orange....!!!! Now ain't that a healthy snack, one that is sure to perk me up for the night.. ;-)

But then, the red fella just won't give up easily. After sitting down in front of my books for another 15 minutes, she told me that I am beginning to feel sleepy, that I am exhausted, since I haven't been sleeping well lately.. -.-

True enough, within minutes, I started feeling my eyelids getting heavier and heavier, and before long, I was dreaming of my comfy bed. Gosh, was I tempted to just turn off my laptop, close my books and head off to sleep! Then bless my angel, she quickly came to the rescue, and whispered a tip into my ear.

So I headed downstairs again, to put the kettle on the boil, and brewed some....

green tea... :-D

Now, green tea has been known to be consumed by Japanese monks ages ago, to keep them awake when they need to meditate, and it's a much healthier choice than coffee. So yeah, I am still hanging on to my mission.

I won't say that I am extremely productive with the study part, but yeah, I am still up..!

But as we all know, our energy level dips every few hours. So each time it takes a dive, I will pop in a sweet, keeping it to maximum 2 p'night. I am not too sure how healthy that is, but I guess, that's the least that I could do to stay on track and remain as healthy as I can.

It's 1.35 am, and hey, I'm still here...!!

Hope I am able to stay up a little later still. Wish me luck!

Tomato Head's Scrap Book - Food!

Feel free to click on picture for a "clearer" view

It is amazing how a young lady (my tomato head, who else), stressed with college work load, is able to cook up such a fare for the family on this long week end.

Just look at the variety of healthy choice and the spectacular play of appetizing colors of the food, which got us so darn hungry while waiting for her to put on the finishing touches. It was a torture for us, I tell ya!

This is how the individual portion looks like. It has salad (raw veggies, with boiled corn, kidney bean, button mushroom), aglio olio spaghetti, salmon, prawns, tortilla (with shredded cabbage, cucumber & carrot fillings, lying on top of a bunch of alfalfa) and whipped potato with gravy on top.

The tomato soup was superb as it was hand grated & mashed instead of machine blended by her loyal and efficient self appointed assistant (the father), together with lots of onions, celery, carrot and potatoes. I had two helpings of it..!!

Home made tiramisu cake, with the inside biscuits dipped in nescafe. Heavenly..!!! This one, the recipe was passed down to her from her aunt.

Her "phor phor" decided to chip in with her contribution of lovely and refreshing jellies, bless her...!!!

I believe her "phor phor" got influenced by her in terms of healthy eating and being creative, I mean, have you ever seen "kei chee" jelly before? That's goji berry or wolf berry.. :-D

She is so efficient in coming up with all sorts of dishes combination, I have decided to document in picture form, all that she cooks in my blog here, just for record purpose and will call it - The Tomato Head's scrap book - Food!

She did this in June when the family met up over a weekend..

I love the chicken, the pasta and the soup!

Last 2 hurdles to clear

Picture taken from here

And what are they...?

No Last 2 hurdles Item to clear Target date of completion
1 10th and the last module Strategic Marketing Last week of Sept
2 Killer project Research Project April/May 2013

Apart from struggling to complete the above two, I am also very much looking forward to end Dec, because by then, my car would have been paid off.

I will be able to breathe easier and have some financial freedom...!

Yeah, I've been dreaming day and night for "D" day to come. The problem is, while I'm working towards it, the time feels like it's ticking at a snail's pace, you know what I mean?

Picture taken from here

Yeah, like this... going up hill one some more. In fact, I think the snail is inching forward faster than the time.

And at times, I really and truly feel like this....

So much so that I feel like screaming out loud...

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah....... ok, enough of whining, time to get back to the books..

Submitted my IM assignments today! Yiiippiiiee...!!!!

Picture taken from here

What a crazy, hectic and terrible week it had been for me..!

Rushed up to Penang middle of last week to participate in a 3 day exhibition, and on the last day, my 2 months old iPhone was stolen!

As if that wasn't bad enough, in the midst of all that chaos and frustration, I had to work and rush on my IM assignments, as the submission deadline was on Saturday. College gave me a 2 day extension.

Well, despite it all, I've still managed to have my assignments submitted and cleared. What a relief...!!!!

Now to heal my poor heart on the lost of my 2nd love, my iPhone...
