If you could have 3 wishes, what would they be?

1) Ivanka Trump's wealth and fortune

                                                                     Picture taken from here

So that, I can afford to buy all the organic food, fruits and veggies in this world. Then I can have the healthiest salad & mix nuts everyday. And I will also be able to hire a "live in chef" to cook whatever I wish to eat. And the chef must also be able to make any kind of coffee from anywhere in this world. Then I don't have to fly to wherever for it's coffee.. :)))

2) Ashwarya Rai's killer look

                                                                    Picture taken from here

So that I am beautiful enough to attract the wealthiest and handsomest man in the world, then I can "double up" my already great fortune and wealth. And also so that I can get to wear all the beautiful clothes & jewelery in this world for FREE, when they hire me as model and ambassador, wah saay....!

3) To be able to fly like a bird

                                                                           Picture taken from here

I've always dreamed of flying like a bird. My friend says, I might as well become a vampire, coz vampire can travel at the speed of light and always look drop dead gorgeous (well, that's how they portray vampires in the Twilight Saga laa..) and they get to maintain the good looks forever. There is no need to go for cosmetic surgery and no need to fly in a plane, something which I hate.

Hmm... not a bad idea, indeed. Except that I won't be able to eat woh..  and I don't think I fancy blood..  eewwwh...!!

Uhh... is there any vampire in this world that feast on coffee only instead..?

Well, those were my first thought when the question popped up in my mind laa, but then after having thought it through some time, I've changed my mind....., as usual.

These are my 3 wishes, serious one, this time..

1) Optimum health

2) Joy in life

3) Peace in this world

And what would yours be?

Today we’re gonna talk about color power.

If you’re going for a job interview, take note.

1) Blue does seem to yield the highest success rate at job interviews

2) Dark green project a sense of masculine, conservative and wealthy qualities

3) Grey denotes approachable authority

4) Brown gives the feeling of stability and intellectuality

If you’re going to meet your future in-laws for the first time, it’s best to wear white, as it symbolizes purity, *wink*..!

Release negative emotions, improve alignment & back pain

                                                    Picture taken from here

My yoga pose of the month – Butterfly pose (Baddha Konasana)

Do you know that most ladies hold stress and negative emotions such as anger, resentment, frustration, hostility, fear & guilt in our pelvis?

I know I do and I only found out about this recently, when I started practicing yoga at home. I was doing my corpse pose (you’re supposed to be totally relax in all your muscles and organs), going thru the check-list (Are my toes relax? If not, relax them. Is my jaw relax, if not relax it, etc) when I came to the hip and I suddenly I realized that I’ve been clenching my hip (especially my right side of the hip) coz I could feel it’s more tense there, and I didn’t notice it all along. It has probably become a habit for, me not to notice it.

Some people tend to hold their negative emotions in their jaw, they grit their teeth. Some even goes to the extent of grinding their teeth in their sleep, to the point of wearing out their gums and teeth.

This is called the junk yard at home. Whenever you do not know what to do with a feeling or emotion or experience, you put it there.

Hip opening poses are crucial as the pelvis is the foundation of the body alignment and by opening the muscles around the hips, only then you will be able to move the life force through this critical area.

Benefits of butterfly pose
1) This is an excellent hip opening pose as it stretches the inner thighs, groins and knees
2) Helps alleviate back pain and increases circulation
3) Eases menstrual pain

How
1) Lift both your knees & flip/bound it up and down continuously like the wings of a butterfly. Breathe deep & slow.

For detailed instructions from a-z, click here.

                                                                  Picture taken from here

2) Lift it up high.
3) After a minute, bend your body forward, keeping your back straight. Hold for 1 minute. Breathe deep & slow. When you bend forward, ensure both your knees are flat on the floor. Use your elbow to press it down if necessary.
4) Repeat about eight times.

The butterfly pose is also called the Bound Angle Pose or Cobbler’s Pose.

There are many other hip opening poses, but this one is the easiest especially for beginners.

You can also do it while watching TV on the floor.

Keep warm this rainy season

The rainy season is probably here, and year end always signify cold and rainy days for me. I am one who does not consume “dong quai” or “pat chan” monthly (Chinese herbal drink for ladies), because I am just too lazy to boil and I don’t particularly like the smell and taste.

Hence, my fingers, feet and body will tend to feel cold around Oct right up till Dec. To maintain a correct balance of yin (cool) and yang (hot), and to achieve a healthy equilibrium within the body, I will normally increase the consumption of the following.

It helps to bring a glow to my being and keeps my body warm.

1) Yomeishu/DOM
Every other night before I sleep, I will drink a little bit of the above. Well, more of DOM, because it’s easier to find DOM in airport. This works without fail, so it's highly recommended by me, for those who can drink, of course. I do not take a lot, at most 2 tablespoon mix with a glass of warm water, coz I do not like the taste.

Up-dated Oct 5, 2010
Eh sorry, it's not 2 tablespoon. I measured last night, it's only 1 teaspoon, sometimes 2. I can't take a lot. Even 2 teaspoon of it also I will turn bright red like a tomato and sleep like a baby. If take 2 tablespoon, will go up on the table and start dancing and singing already.. :-D

2) Ginger
During dinner time, if we order food that is cooked with ginger, I will normally ask them to add a little bit more than normal and will eat them all. I will also make it a point to eat more, food that has ginger in it, such as chicken with rice wine and ginger, fish with ginger (keong choong yue phin), steamed fish, Japanese food (love their pickled ginger that comes FREE), etc.

Ginger tea with honey from Culpeper. Lovely drink, I will take it hot at night before I go to sleep.

I love my “teh tarik” but it’s rather cooling, so instead of that, I’ll order “teh halia.”

3) Beef & mutton
I will also increase my consumption of beef or mutton just a little bit more.

4) Spices/curry
Korean kimchii hot soup or the Korean instant noodle, yuuuummm…!!! This will warm up the tummy for sure.

This is the instant noodle - spicy one

5) Hop soup
To keep the tummy warm, ST will tend to ask for steamboat while I would always prefer wild mushroom soup, French onion soup, etc, etc, you get the idea. Alternatively I wouldn’t mind having the chicken ginseng soup (either Chinese style or Korean style).

Wild mushroom soup (my favorite of all soup)

What's Up, Doc?

This week, I blogged about how to stay healthy financially. At the end of the day, it all boils down to saving for the rainy days. I was browsing in the net for a picture to post in my blog, when I came across the idea of coin box.

Coin box have always held sweet and sentimental memories for me. Just thinking about it brings up images of my mom taking us to Standard Chartered to open a savings account, and in us getting a coin box (I truly can’t recall what shape the coin box was in). In the case with Maybank, we got a coin box in the shape of a tiger. I love them all, and love them most when it got full and we took it to the bank to count them and have them deposited into our savings account.

After having blogged about it, I remembered just a few weeks ago, my younger brother handed me an old coin box of mine that he found in my room in our family house. My room has now become my nephew’s room, so out goes all my stuffs.. L

The coin box, in the shape of Goodday milk box, is about ¾ full and is extremely heavy.

I took it out again to have a look and started missing having a pretty coin box. Surprisingly just the other evening, as I was going through one of my shelves, I found this coin box which I bought from Pos Malaysia many years back. When I first saw it, it was love at first sight.

It's still in it's plastic wrapper, mind you. I am now on a mission to look for cute and unique looking coin box, coz I would love to start dropping spare coins into a box. More meaningful that way... :-D

Below are some of the coin boxes which I managed to find in the internet. Nice!

Next - Our food adventure for the day
We were in Kelana Jaya today, at our freight forwarding company. Knowing that we have a meeting at 2.30 pm in Semenyih, we went over to Sunway for lunch, because we both felt like eating lots of veggies. When we arrived and when I saw the variety of veggies, dishes and ulam they have there, I flipped. It was like, I wanted everything on my plate and I forgot about my diet..!!

In my excitement, I whipped out my camera and took 2 shots of the veggies, and was about to take picture of the ulam when I saw one of their staffs and asked him if I could take picture. He said no, so quietly I put the camera back. Since they told me no photography, I won’t mention the name of the restaurant here, but I feel that it’s just too good not to share.. :-D

The vegies itself (not including ulam) has about 20 type of varieties.

Picture taken from the other end of the veggies section.

ST’s lunch, with very minimum rice. I forgot to take mine, coz I started digging into it before I remembered.

Next - Magazine Talk
Was browsing through some magazines and came across some stuffs, which I would love to share with everyone here.

Most people ask me how come I am always spotted with short hair and why is it that I don’t keep it long instead. Well, I’ve had long hair before, I guess they don’t remember, but I've always been a short hair person. Furthermore, here is the reason why I just love short hair (ref below pix).

Short hair, the way it should be, simple and elegant. And I truly admire ladies who looks so natural, whether they have make-up on or not.

Model - Sinje Lee in SK II advert

Having said that, I'm not saying I will look that nice when in my short hair. In fact, not everyone is able to look so feminine in short hair.

This attire (pix below) is what they call the toga design, for the most obvious reason. Ok, if you don't know, it's because it follows the Roman toga fashion, you know, where they wear "robe like" attire that drapes down on one side of the shoulder? In all my life, I have never really liked the toga design, maybe because I feel that it’s rather one sided, there’s no balance. It look odd to me, but I saw this picture of Megan Fox in a toga dress, and I think it’s the most elegant dress I’ve ever seen. The way it’s designed and worn is perfect & sexy!

This is a shift dress (pix below), a dress design that I’ve always fancied. In fact, I think I have a whole wardrobe of them, and was just giving it away to my eldest niece the other day coz I can no longer fit into them. I think Emma Watson look nice and elegant in this piece. Love it!

And this one, hmmm…. I’m not sure what design is this, but I think she looks "stunning" in it. Maybe it’s because she is fair & pretty, but she certainly look lovely.
