Hong Kong story continues...

At Work

Attending the Stratasys Annual Kick-Off Sales Conference with Farida Win from Indonesia.

It was a hectic and intense meet this time round. Nevertheless, it was nice to see all our old friends again.

 Good old friends from India

This was taken on the last day, after the conference ended.

Goofing around with our Japanese friends at the lobby while waiting for transfer. This (Makoto Ito) is one cool guy, I tell ya!

At Leisure

On the island

With only 2 days in Hong Kong, and no plans drafted on what we intended to do, we took my sis-in-law's advise by taking the ferry across to the island via Wan Chai & hopped on to the "ting-ting" (cable car) all the way to Sheung Wan.

Earlier on, we asked the hotel to help us make table reservation at "Yung Kee Restaurant" for the world famous "siew ngor" (roasted goose). It is a must go.

And spectacular it was...

The famous appetizer - century egg

Heavenly....!!!

Day 2 was spent exploring the street from Mody Road - Carnavon Road - Cameron Road - Nathan Road - Harbour City Mall.

Note the scaffolding that Hong Kong uses in their construction process. They use nothing bamboo.. :-D

This is something widely practiced in Asia, especially Hong Kong. Due to its versatility and eco-friendliness, bamboo is an extremely cost effective resource. What's surprising, it is durable enough to support the weight of builders, their equipment and materials.

This picture was taken at the Harbour City MallYou wouldn't believe how big this place is.

That's Logos Hope behind me. With over 400 volunteers, from 60 different nations, Logos Hope aims to bring knowledge, help and hope to the people around the world.

We couldn't afford to buy anything in the mall despite the huge discount. Instead, I bought a pair of Merrell walking shoe at one of the little shoe shop (amongst the shop lot) along one of the roads outside our hotel. This one is also on huge discount.. :)))

It's extremely comfortable..!!!

We walked to the Avenue of Stars around 7 pm, selected the best view seat (coz it's free), waited for the 8 pm symphony of light show while at the same time, enjoyed the night scene of Hong Kong and the cool weather. That was our third time watching the light show. Still as magnificent.

This time round when the show started, we sat transfixed absorbing the music and the synchronization of light show, instead of getting busy taking photos. I believe we took enough in our first trip there.

My biggest achievement for this trip..? I managed to snap some pictures of the roast goose and century egg, and I can proudly say that they're MY pictures.. :P

That's all, folks!

What I feel like doing right now

Picture taken from here

I've been hitting the wall.. since last week, and it doesn't seem like I'm getting anywhere. It is rather depressing...

No wonder every night I feel like I just want to crawl into bed.

Just spoke to an expert in research project about half an hour ago.

Recollecting my thoughts now..

Do you need it or do you want it?

Picture taken from here

We did not get to indulge in our  mid year get-away last year, and things at work got a little heated up at the end of the year.

So two weeks ago, I told ST that I intend to get two items for myself.

And this....

He looked at me and said, "But our bathroom is already full of your body scrub stuffs. You have a scrub glove, a scrub sponge, a scrub loofah and also if I remember correctly, some scrub cream in a container that's been there for like ages. Why do you need another body scrub for..?"

"Do you need it or do you want it?", he asked. Geeez... how I hate it when he sound so practical and so like me.. :P

Eeeermm... ok, maybe I just wanted it. Abandon plan. Then I will go and get a facial scrub since I just finished a tube. The one that I have been using all along is no longer in production.

So, happily I walked into the Origins counter and asked for the facial scrub which I have been scrutinizing carefully on the internet. However, when the lady at the counter heard that I have extremely sensitive skin, she told me the above product is not for me because it contains fruit (papaya), that has vitamin C which is no.1 irritant on sensitive skin.

Sigh, want to buy something to reward myself also so difficult...

Such is life, eh? Anyway, since I do not have anything that I can afford to buy, I try to stop seeking stimulation and instead, learn to appreciate whatever that I have. The clear blue sky above, the special moment that I spend with my loved ones, I savor each and every bite of the food that I put in my mouth, and enjoy as well as cherish the experience of living and being.

This morning, I was dashing around at college, punching in my attendance card, photocopying lecture notes & hand outs, collecting my student's attendance and mark list, etc, thinking that I'm gonna be late for my class and silently lecturing myself, while at the same time, running through today's lesson plan in my head when I bumped into one of my ex-student from last semester at the lecturer's room.

She told me she bought me a packet of "teh tarik" and left it on my table. That was at 9.05 am.

Aaaaawh... don't you just love life..?

Cheers!

I spied...

Don't you just love this hair style...?!?!

Ok, you know what, I think I'm getting a whee bit impatient with my long fringe, so much so that I now have it under control most of the time with a hair band. And with this new year heat wave already starting to hit us, I am not too sure how long I will be able to stand having it long.

Anyway, will be going to my regular hair salon tomorrow. I wonder if Patrick will "allow" me to chop it off.. :-D

Ok, back to my reading, or rather, dreaming.. :P

I can see clearly now...

Uncertainty kills...
uncertainty kills enthusiasm, possibility & focus,
when you do not know what to do and you can't move forward..

but that's over now.

Now it's clear view all the way and full steam ahead..! Wooohooo..!!!
